This is a unique opportunity to hear from someone who understands the independent dealer experience—because he’s lived it. As a second-generation auto dealer, Garcia grew up in the business, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges and opportunities independent dealers face. While he went on to co-found Carvana—now a Fortune 500 company—his roots remain grounded in the everyday realities of the automotive world. From billion-dollar growth to those iconic car vending machines, Carvana’s impact is real—and independent dealers can’t afford to miss what’s next.
Ernie Garcia co-founded Carvana and has served as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer since Carvana’s inception in 2012. Ernie is also Chairman of the Carvana Co. Board. Prior to founding Carvana, Ernie held various roles at the DriveTime Automotive Group, Inc. from January 2007 to January 2013. Prior to DriveTime, Ernie was an associate in the Principal Transactions Group at RBS Greenwich Capital from 2005 to 2006, where he focused on consumer credit based investments.
